Vintage Carved Wood Mary & Infant Jesus Statue by D Charles - Abstract Retro Bust of Blessed Mother 13” Tall Mid Century Christian Religious

$28.90

Sorry, this item has sold.

This 13" tall vintage hand carved wood bust of the Blessed Mother and the infant Jesus in an abstract style typical of the 1970s. The Madonna holds the baby cradled in her arms and seems to have her eyes closed. Her one hand is quite visible securing the baby in front. She wears a veil and has long straight hair.

This retro religious piece depicts the Madonna and her child's facial features in a lovely, serene, rather lifelike way. The statue base is half round as the statue is flat on the back. (While the front of this piece is three dimensional, the back side is flat.)

This vintage wooden statue is nice vintage condition with wear on the mid century piece commensurate with vintage age. Split in the wood on the back bottom section - see photos for detail.

Measures approx. 13” high and is 4.1/2” wide at widest point. It is about 2 1/2" deep.

The statue is signed by the artist D. Charles on the bottom.

    Frequently Asked Questions

Do we answer questions about the value or “worth” of items?

No, we are not comfortable providing pricing or answering questions about the value or worth of vintage or antique items. We believe they are worth what someone will pay for them. Therefore, there is no way to assign something a set monetary value - in our opinion. We suggest doing an online search to find similar items and take it from there.
