Antique Match Holder Shabby Chic Cottage Farmhouse Wall Kitchen Decor - Metal Tin for Matches Circa early 1900s

$13.50

Sorry, this item has sold.

An antique tin match holder that is a light tan color. The tin holder is painted and the chipping shows a green under coat.

On the front bottom section there is a bit of embossed decorative cross-hatching. The top section has a hole in the center for hanging this vintage match holder on the wall.

The chipping, rust, bent areas and wear all over make this a fab shabby or cottage chic home and/or kitchen decor piece.

NOTE: This type of match holder was used in the early to mid 1900s to start a fire or light a gas pilot on a stove. Every kitchen has one as it was a necessity to be able to cook and warm water in your stove.

This retro match holder is in nice antique condition with lots of wear and chipping to the paint consistent with age and past usage. See photos for detail.

    Frequently Asked Questions

Do we answer questions about the value or “worth” of items?

No, we are not comfortable providing pricing or answering questions about the value or worth of vintage or antique items. We believe they are worth what someone will pay for them. Therefore, there is no way to assign something a set monetary value - in our opinion. We suggest doing an online search to find similar items and take it from there.
