A great vintage cast metal Circus Wagon with a horse and driver. This toy, a 1930’s Kenton Cast Iron Overland Circus Wagon, was made in separate pieces. The driver alone, the wagon and two back wheels, and the horses, with the frame and back wheels.
The pieces fit together with a metal peg that fits into a notch. The driver is connected to a set of reins. The wagon exterior is a chippy dark red and the sign on the top side of the bear cage that says OVERLAND CIRCUS is in embossed lettering.
The horses are off white with gold and red accents on the yoke, reins and harness. The man who is the driver is a dark gray metal and he wears a hat and shoes.
The back of the animal cage opens and closes.
Measures about 14” long when all connected, and is about 3 1/2" wide and 6" high.
There are serial numbers and made in USA on the chipped yellow frame.
*The bear(s) is missing from the cage as are the riders for the horses and the chains that linked the wagon to the horses.
Weighs about 4 1/2 lbs. before packaging for shipment - it is a hefty piece.
In nice antique or vintage condition with lots of wear and chipping to the paint.
