Vintage Metal ORIENTAL Ginger JAR Traditional Large Heavy Two Tone Urn w/ Lid - Home Decor Large Heavy 2 Piece Pewter Brass Tall Container
Very large and quite heavy Oriental Ginger Jar with a lid. It has a hallmark on the bottom that says MADE IN HONGKONG. I believe it is made of pewter with some brass accents.
The retro piece with its Chinese influence is two tone with a mostly a pewter metal body and lid with brass bands of trim on the base at the top, at the very bottom and a brass knob on the lid.
This type of Ginger Jar was popular in the 1970s as a home decor item. This one is quite large and heavy - and would be a great home decor piece.
Measures approx. 14" high with the lid on. Is about 7" wide at widest point. The jar alone without the lid on is about 10" high and the lid alone is about 4" high.
Weighs about 7 1/2 lbs. before packaging for shipment - quite a hefty piece.
This retro urn is in nice vintage condition with some scratching and wear here and there as would be expected an item that is circa 1970s. See photos for detail especially worn area on the brass area under the lid - last photo.
