Pair ROYCROFT Hammered Copper Candlestick Holders - 2 Antique Arts and Crafts Candle Holders Ca 1920 Hallmarked

A pair of antique signed Roycroft candlestick holders with floriform bases. They are hammered copper in Aurora Brown and have round bases with a slight flower (floriform) shape. The stems in this rare candle holders are thin and stately.

This antique pair of candle holders are from the Arts and Craft Mission era and are hallmarked with the Roycroft symbol on the bottom that I believe was used from 1920 to approximately 1928.

Measurements:
height - 7 3/4”
base diameter - 3 1/2”

These fit a traditional sized candle.

They are both in nice antique/vintage condition with light signs of wear commensurate with antique age.

A very special set of home decor pieces from the Arts and Crafts, Mission era.


NOTE:
The original Roycroft logo was trademarked by Elbert Hubbard in 1906. Its inspiration comes from a symbol used by monks in the middle ages at the end of their illuminated manuscripts, signifying "The Best I Can Do Dedicated to God." The double barred cross and circle was used by the Roycroft artisans to identify their handcrafted, high-quality arts and crafts products. Hubbard inserted an "R" standing for "Roycroft" and symbolizing "Royal Craft" inside the circle, and began placing the logo in highly visible spots on the artisan's products. The logo would be carved into handcrafted furniture, affixed to leather goods, or added to certain patterns used on china and glassware. The Orb trademark came to signify the Roycroft movement, and products carrying the symbol were determined to be authentic, high-quality, handcrafted Roycroft pieces. Today these items with the orb and single "R" are highly collectable and usually quite valuable.
