This vintage Marwal Industries chalk ware bust of the Blessed Mother and the infant Jesus is quite large, heavy and very statuesque. It is a light brown or tan color with some color variation all over the bust, especially on the base where the color is a bit darker shade of tan or light brown. The statue has a black felt bottom which is still in place. (See NOTE below about Marwal. This bust of Mary is circa 1950.) The bust is marked with the artist's signature, R Monti, on the back and underneath it has the Marwal hallmark stamp - see last photo.
In nice vintage condition with light wear on this mid century piece - some chipping here and there commensurate with vintage age.
Measures 15" high. Base is about 5 1/2" in diameter and is 9" wide.
NOTE:
Marwal Industries Inc. created plaster figures and busts in Miami from around the 1940s to the 1960s. They are collectibles and each can be seen selling on the Internet anywhere from $20 to $150.

No, we are not comfortable providing pricing or answering questions about the value or worth of vintage or antique items. We believe they are worth what someone will pay for them. Therefore, there is no way to assign something a set monetary value - in our opinion. We suggest doing an online search to find similar items and take it from there.
