This is a set of 4 decorative vintage clear with red flash water or wine glasses.
What is flash? Flashed glass is a type of glass created by coating a colorless glass with one or more thin layers of colored glass.
The sides of the bowl have a bulged out area on the bottom half with 9 thumbprints or impressions around it. There is a line of zig zag designs above and below them. The stems have a smaller matching decorative wafer with the same mini impressions on it that is in the middle of the stem. There is also a row on the base that has a raised zig zag edge. These are hefty for their size and feel nice in the hand. Look like they could be either US Glass, Colony, or Tiffin-Franciscan Glass Co. (All three made a Kings Crown pattern.)
The US Glass Company made their version circa 1914. The Tiffin-Franciscan Company made their Kings Crown pattern from 1958 to 1962. The Colony Company made their King's Crown from 1953 - 1967.
They are in very good vintage condition with no chips or cracks - just a great set in nice vintage condition.
Measure 5 1/2" tall. Top opening has a 3" diameter. The round bases have a 3 1/4" diameter.
NOTE: These are the larger of the two glasses pictured side by side in the photo of the large and small King’s Crown glass.
These glasses are on the hefty side weighing in at about 1 lb. each.
Hold 8 ounces.
NOTE: The last photo shows the size of these wine glasses compared to the smaller sized wine glasses that are also listed in our Etsy shop.
Note that with this set of four glasses, the sizes are slightly different - see second photo of all four lines up in a row.
A pretty red on clear background and a unique set of four glasses!
