This antique vitreous ceramic pitcher made nearly 100 years ago by the Edwin M Knowles Co. of Chester, West Virginia is an ivory color with gold painted accent designs that appear to be clusters of cherry blossoms with some viney leaves. There are embossed floral designs around the top and best the handle. The base and top rim also have some nice curved or scalloped shapes.

These delicate gold flowers on the sides of the pitcher appear in two places. The handle on the pitcher is which is very decorative with some nice detail with some swirls - overall the whole pitcher is quite curvy.

The hallmark is clearly seen in the bottom that says Vitreous Edwin M Knowles 1926. See NOTE below about the Edwin M. Knowles Co.

A wonderful antique shabby chic decor item for bathroom, bedroom or kitchen decor.

This pitcher is 8" high and about 6" wide.

The backstamp on this piece dates it to 1926.

NOTE:
The Edwin M. Knowles China Company began producing pottery at the start of the 20th century. Pieces feature a number of early American designs that include flowers, nature and pastel colors.

This pitcher is in nice antique condition with some wear, crazing, discoloration and chipping commensurate with antique age. See photos for detail.
