A vintage 14K gold filled choker necklace with a prong set diamond made by Avon in the late 1970s (I believe 1977). The small diamond is in the center of a crossed teardrop shaped loop in the very center of this retro necklace. The shape reminds one of a wishbone.
The front section of the choker is a solid piece that features a crossed loop with a small diamond in the top center of this loop. The diamond is set with 4 prongs in a small teardrop shape that have textured edges that extend outward from the gemstone. The loop made of the solid center piece is also in a teardrop shape.
The solid piece with the loop and small faceted diamond attaches to a fine link chain at both ends. This chain then goes to the back of the necklace to spring ring closure.
The spring ring clasp opens and closes securely.
Measures approximately 16” in length. Diamond is .01mm in size. It weighs 1.5 grams.
The choker necklace is in nice vintage condition with no issues.
The spring ring clasp is marked (very faintly) 1/20 14K GF. The back of the pendant has the copyright symbol and AVON.
