A lovely and dainty piece of antique Victorian costume jewelry in the form of a traditional type of bar pin or brooch.
The gold tone metal has some ornate designs at the ends of the top bar. There are three hanging glass gems that hang from the decorative hanging bar below the main top piece of this retro brooch. The center hanging piece is a rounded pink heart. The heart is set in a decorative frame of the gold tone metal.
Then there are 2 red colored faceted glass stones that also dangle, one in either side of the heart.
The top piece has a faux shaped mother of pearl piece that is held in place with a small round gold tone pieces at each end.
This pin or brooch has a pin on the back that slips into a curved metal hook piece that holds the pin in place. This type of open ended closure is old as more modern pins have a closed end.
This Victorian brooch with the gold tone metal base and three faux stones is antique and is circa 1920 - 1940s.
Measures approximately 2" across and hangs down with a 1 1/2" drop.
In nice antique condition. The gold tone plating is bright and intact on the front and back. Some light use marks here or there.
Great classic brooch that is feminine and eye-catching.
