Vintage Wood and Sons of Burslem, England teapot and in white with gold Spout, handle, Stripes and trim. The teapot has a great decorative and unusual gold pattern that features swirls that are raised and colored with gold in every other stripe. The top opening of the pot had a scalloped edge. The knob on the lid, the handle, the base and the spout are a solid gold color.
This retro teapot would make wonderful home or kitchen decor item or could be used for tea as well.
The teapot and lid measure:
Teapot - 9" across from tip of spout to end of handle. 6 1/2" high to top of knob on the lid. Measures 6" in diameter.
Bottom is stamped with the hallmark and says WOOD & SONS BURSLEM ENGLAND and has a crown on the top. It is hand numbered 2008. The words Ellgreave and England are embossed in the bottom as well.
The hallmark stamp is brown and has a design dating this teapot circa 1940s.
The teapot is in very nice vintage condition with no chips, cracks and slight wear. The gold is in nice antique condition with some wear to the gold on the handle and spout. See photos for detail. Item’s price reflects these conditions.
