Antique Mourning Locket Necklace Victorian 10K Gold Filled Locket on 14K GF Chain - Vintage Jewelry Pendant 2 Compartments
An antique mourning 10K gold filled locket on a 14K gold filled chain that features a wonderful geometric design on the front and a series of etched oval rings on the back. This vintage Victorian era locket is on a newer long dainty gold filled chain that has a spring ring clasp.
Measurements:
locket - 1" long by 3/4" wide
chain - 24" long
The locket and chain weigh 7.0 grams in total.
This mourning locket may have held hair or a note or something small to remember a loved one who died as was typical for the Victorian times.
The locket is unmarked but has been tested as 10K gold fill. The long chain is marked 14K GF on the spring ring clasp. (This chain is longer than most and the last photo shows its real length. )
The locket is in nice antique condition with some wear commensurate with its age with some light pitting on the back. The inside compartments have darkened over time. See photos for detail. Item’s price reflects these conditions.
