Pair Antique Christmas LVL Candlestick Holders- 2 Lulu Verharen Lavell Cast Metal Holly Leaf Berries

$34.20

Sorry, this item has sold.

A very Merry pair of candle holders that are from 1921 as dated on the bottom of them. They are a dark green color and have red berries on the top sprinkled around the hole where the candle would be placed.

The bottoms are marked LVL PAT D 8-17-21. The LVL stands for the designer Lulu Verharen Lavell. See NOTE below for more about her. The numbers are the date of the patent on these cast metal candlestick holders from the 1920s.

The 2 low antique candlestick holders are in nice condition with no issues. Light wear on the paint as would be expected an antique item.

NOTE: Lulu Verharen Lavell was born Lulu Maude Verharen in 1877 in Iowa. She studied art and medicine at the University of Minnesota. She married Richard Lavell of Minneapolis in May 1906 but he died. Lulu had two small daughters when she started the Minneapolis Candle Company. From 1921 to 1928 she produced cast iron doorstops, candle holders, thermometer cases, cake rings, mantle clamps, and ash trays often with floral or Christmas themes such as these candlestick holders.

    Frequently Asked Questions

Do we answer questions about the value or “worth” of items?

No, we are not comfortable providing pricing or answering questions about the value or worth of vintage or antique items. We believe they are worth what someone will pay for them. Therefore, there is no way to assign something a set monetary value - in our opinion. We suggest doing an online search to find similar items and take it from there.
