A retro jar with a lid that is ceramic with a lid that is dark blue with gold designs. The designs are of flowers with leaves and some decorative arching swirls all around these flowers. The gold designs are on a dark blue background. This ceramic jar is circa 1980s.
The jar itself is round but has 8 softly rounded "sides" or panels. The top edge of the jar is slightly scalloped along these panels or sides. The base itself is round.
The lid on this jar has a tall predominantly blue knob that is 1 1/2" high. At the very top, it does have a criss crossing of gold lines. The lid is round with no panels or sides to it. The bottom of this retro home decor item has felt pads on it to protect the surface it sits on from scratching.
This lidded jar is a bit hefty weighing in at just shy of 4 lbs. before packaging for shipment.
The ceramic jar measures 8" high with the lid on - to the top of the knob. It is approx. 7 1/2" wide. The base has a 5 1/2" diameter. The top opening has a 7 1/4" diameter.
In nice vintage condition with no chips or cracks. Light wear to the gold designs on the jar sides and lid - more wear to the lid on the edges of the scalloped rim - see photos. Still quite striking!
