A very different style and color is seen in this large and uniquely shaped vintage pitcher, ewer or vase that was hand painted and signed by Alice Gold. Not only is the shape different and a bit bulbous near the bottom, but the gold handle trim seems to snake down into the body of the pitcher and is quite bold.
Thus antique inspired pitcher is signed by the artist and dated 1993. It is a throwback to an earlier and graceful time with its soft floral designs and ornate gold painted handle that seems to snake it's way around the top portion of this pitcher. The bottom section has a soft ribbing with a center piece and two rounded pieces on each side giving it some added depth. The bottom itself has a number of very small "legs" or ridges that it stands on. There is heavy gold trim on the lip and top edges, the handle and into the body of the pitcher. There are gold markings of three curved lines on the center bottom (near the artist's signature) and along the bottom edge as well.
This piece measures about 8" high and 6 1/2" across. It has a depth of 4 1/2".
This item (white background with orange -red flowers) is in excellent condition and has no cracks, chips, crazing or repairs.
The bottom is signed AG. On the one side near the bottom it is signed Alice Gold and dated 1993.
