Vintage Sterling Silver Locket Etched w/ Unique Flower or Leafy Design - Retro 925 Pendant w/ Two Photo Compartments & Two Tone on 16" Chain
A unique Sterling Silver locket that has an ornate design with a leafy (or flower) motif on the front. The bottom of the heart has a 5 petaled leaf (or flower shape) at the base, and the corners have the same design that features these shapes hanging in an upside down manner. The area in between the flower or leafy designs is crosshatched and therefor has a textured finish.
The back and front have the same design but on one side, the shapes have a copper color to them, where it seems the silver has worn away. The other side is more silver - see photos of both sides for detail.
The inside of the locket is marked 925 FAS which means Fused Alloy Silver. Usually copper is the alloy used and the silver is fused over it, hence the copper color showing through on the one side of this locket.
The bale that the locket hangs on the chain from has a few light decorative etch marks.
This circa 1980s locket is hanging from a sterling silver 16" long box link chain that is hallmarked.
The chain is marked ITALY and has 925 on the spring ring clasp. The clasp opens and closes securely.
In vintage condition with light wear as would be expected a vintage item from the 1980s. More wear can be seen inside the two locket compartments. As noted above, one side of the exterior has more of a two-tone effect from surface wear on the leafy design than the other side. Item's price reflects this condition.
While this retro etched locket has some wear, it has more love to share! And would make a great first locket for a special young lady!
Measures just shy of 3/4" across at widest part of the heart. Locket is about 1" long including the bale.
Chain is 16" in length.
