2 Vintage Demitasse Cups & Saucers 24K Gold on Black Greek - Retro Pair Espresso Coffee Cups Serving Kitchen - Black Hand STAKIAS
Stunning pair if demitasse Cups with saucers that have a black (or very very dark brown) background and accented with 24K gold. This vintage espresso or small coffee set was made in Greece by Stakias as hallmarked on the back.
The cups feature Greek mythological characters, both male and female, and a border in a Greek key design. The cups have a more color than the saucers and have pale shades of green, orange and white as well as the gold. The saucers are quite ornately decorated in matching design. The interior of the cups is the solid black color.
Markings on the bottom of each saucer say HAND MADE IN GREECE IN 24K GOLD STAKIAS P.
The saucers measure 4 1/2" in diameter. The cups are 2 1/2" high and have a 2 1/2" diameter.
This retro set is in nice vintage condition with no chips or cracks. Light wear as would be expected a set that is circa 1980s.
