Original Beads from a flapper necklace from the Roaring Twenties. It has three shapes of glass beads. There are purple ovals in graduated sizes, tiny black beads and clear and black discs on this Opera Length necklace. The center has a single and largest bead that is approx. 3/4" long and about 11mm in size. The beads slowly become smaller until the smallest which is about 1/4" long and about 6mm in size.
The fourth photo shows the actual length of the necklace when placed on a neck form. The next photo shows it with the length drawn up to be more as it would lie on an actual person.
The purple beads are all clear. The black smaller beads are solid (non transparent). Of course, the clear spacer beads are clear.
The beads have been restrung on black silk cording in their original design on this single strand long necklace.
This vintage glass bead necklace measures about 32" in length which makes it Opera length.
In great antique / vintage condition with wear commensurate with age - circa 1920s.
While this 32" length necklaces as it fits easily over the head, there is a sterling silver spring ring clasp in the center back. The clasp opens and closes securely. The clasp is marked 925 for Sterling Silver.
