Distinctive large art glass piece with handles that is hand blown with a double set of handles. This vintage art glass piece is shaped like a purse and is a rectangle with a set of two handles that meet at the very top. Each of the handles has a rosette shape that is at each corner of the purse where it attaches to the main body of the bag. The two handles meet at the very top - they are pinched together. The purse has a thick glass base/bottom section. As it is all clear glass, this vintage home decor item lends itself to a variety of way to display it - anything colorful would get a boost when placed inside.
The glass has some small bubbles in various places and a distinct pontil on the bottom indicating that it is hand blown glass.
Measures approx. 8" high and 8" high. It is about 3" deep/thick.
More detail:
The basket with the handles is 8" high. Just the square solid glass basket sides are about 5 3/4" high - that is without the handles. The large 2 sides are 8" across. From side to side (the 2 short sides) it is 3" wide.
So, with handles it is 8"x8"x3".
This piece is quite hefty, weighing approx. 5 1/2 lbs. before packaging for shipment.
This vintage hand blown art glass basket has no chips or cracks. In great vintage condition.
A unique and eye-catching home decor piece!
