Sorry, this item has sold.

This vintage ironstone teapot made in Staffordshire, England by Sadler Co. has a great traditional shape. See NOTE about the Sadler Co. below.

The body is brown with some mottled areas throughout. There are bands of gold trim around the top section and the widest, about 1" wide, has a Greek look to it. The gold lines of trim are in between two white bands. The spout, handle and the top of the knob on the lid are gold. There is also a bit of gold trim around the base.

Measures 5.5" tall and 9.25 " from handle to the spout. The bottom of the teapot is stamped SADLER - MADE IN STAFFORDSHIRE ENGLAND and has the crown stamp for Sadler Co. The letters and numbers BA 2305 are hand painted in gold as well.

In nice vintage condition with no cracks or crazing. Under the wide lid there is a chip that does not show - it is inside the top when in use. Color and gold trim is in fairly nice shape with some wear to the gold especially on the top of the knob - see photos. Item's price reflects this condition.

NOTE:
The Sadler Co. of Staffordshire, England was started by James Sadler in 1882. He made pottery in Stoke-on-Trent, Staffordshire, England. His first teapots were known as “Brown Betty" and were made of red clay and finished with a dark brown glaze.
