The bale is quite a large "O" shape and has a wide shape that seems necessary as the pendant itself is substantial. The back side of this pendant is solid silver.
The pendant is 2" long including the bale and 1 1/2" long without the bale. It is 1 1/4" wide at the bottom and 1/2" wide at the top of this trapazoid shape.
This eye-catching pendant necklace is on a Sterling Silver box link chain that was made in Italy. The chain is about 18" long without the pendant. The spring ring clasp opens and closes securely.
Back of the pendant is hallmarked 950, which means it is 95% silver. Most silver is marked 925 or 92.5% but 950 silver was common in older Mexican pieces.
The chain is marked ITALY and 925 on the link near the clasp.
Pendant with chain weigh 20.5 grams together - a substantial piece of mid century jewelry that would fabulous worn against black or white clothing.
The necklace has some wear consistent with its vintage age. The piece of Malachite has a fissure that runs from the top 1/3 of the stone to the bottom center - see photos for detail.
