Beautiful pink cased glass vase. This art glass vase is a light pink color, is a slight oval shape and has tiny suspended bubbles all on the inside - quite unique. The shape is somewhat of a heart shape as the sides come up from a V shape and the center top is slightly pinched, making a depression across the top surface. This vase is the style of art glass that was popular in the mid century. This piece is not signed. The bottom has a flat surface making it quite stable when placed down. There is an opening on the top that is a thin oval - this also has a depression area in the very center. The bottom cased glass where it is clear is about 3/4" thick.
The vase is heavy for its size, weighing in at 3 lbs. 6 oz. before packaging for shipment. A wonderful example of Mid century art glass that could have been a part of Betty Draper's living room decor.
Measures approx. 6 1/2" high. The slightly oval shape is about 6" x 5". The base has a 2" diameter. The top opening is an oval that is 1" x 2 1/4".
No cracks or chips. Upon close inspection, there is an imperfection or dark material inside the glass that was present during production - see photo close up. Otherwise, light wear as one might expect with a vintage ashtray from the 1960s or thereabouts.
