Matson Gold Gilded Ormolu Trinket Jewelry Box - Signed Matson Glass Panel Dresser Jar w/ Velvet Liner - Shabby Chic Hollywood Regency

This is such a pretty bedroom accessory from the Matson Company that was so popular in the mid century. The gilded exterior of this trinket box or jewelry holder is very ornate and feminine which blends beautifully with both shabby chic and Hollywood Regency decors. As with most Matson items, I believe this is 24K Gold Plated - see NOTE below.

There are 5 round glass panels which allow one to see into this container. The four on the sides are the same size and the round glass on the top is a bit larger in size and the edges are beveled. All of the glass panels have pointed gold pieces all around the edges. The panels are decorated with flowers, leaves and branches. There are 4 short pedestal legs. There is a round red velvet piece in the bottom. The lid is hinged and has a decorative handle where you lift it up to remove or place items inside this vintage jewelry or trinket container.

It is signed MATSON on the bottom - see photo.

Measures 4" high and is 4" wide.

The gold frame is still quite bright and has very little patina. The glass sides and top are in great shape and quite clear- no chips or cracks are present. Overall, in very nice vintage condition.

Amazing mid century piece that is truly glamorous - very much of the Hollywood Regency era!
