This very LARGE and pretty vintage Arthur Wood teapot is decorated with a design of small bouquets of violets and blue forget-me-nots with green leaves. The cream color background leaves a nice contrast for the blue, purple and green colors in the floral pattern that is scattered all over this teapot. There are large and small bouquets depending on where they appear. The handle and top rim have smaller ones, and the larger bouquets are on the wider center section and base of the piece.
This substantial teapot has a round wide lid with an elongated knob on the top. The handle and spout are distinct as the handle has a curved section where it meets the top. The spout has a squared shape at the base and turns at an angle rather than a smooth curve-rather bold in this particular style.
As this teapot is large (and I mean large), it is also rather heavy weighing in at over 6 lbs. before packing for shipment.
Measures 11" high. It is 12" across from the end of the handle to the tip of the spout. The body of the teapot has a 9" diameter. The lid has a 6 1/2" diameter.
This large teapot holds 22 cups. Yes, 22.
Marked on the bottom ARTHUR WOOD ENGLAND. I believe this back stamp was used from the 1960s-1970s.
In nice vintage condition with no chips or cracks. No staining in the interior. Light crazing can be seen all over - see photos for detail.

I doubt anyone else will ever see such a teapot. It is huge. I was told so and it is do. You could swing a cat or bathe a toddler in there. But perfect for us, who like to drink green tea all day. Thank you for the excellent packing job on this memorable teapot.
