This vintage twosome burnished gold colored wall hangings are in an octagonal shape that were made in 1976.
The retro pair feature musical instruments including a violin with a bow on one and a horn and clarinet (I think) on the other. Each depiction of the instruments is surrounded by flowers and a flowing ribbon. The frames are quite ornate with decorative edges all around and a shell shape on the bottom and a type of fleur de lis shape on the tops.
The two hangings are identical in size and shape. The hole in the top on the back would be great for hanging.
Each of these Syroco wall hangings measures 11 1/2" x 8 1/4" wide. They are about 1" deep.
Looking on the back of each, there is the Syroco copyright from the Syracuse Ornamental Wood Co. and Homco, MADE IN USA and the date in Roman Numerals for 1976.
Very shabby chic mid century or retro decor.
Looks brass look but material is plastic or Syroco - the finish is so much like metal it fools you and is very lightweight.
Considering these are mid century items they are in good vintage condition with no chips or cracks with some very wear to the gold paint here and there commensurate with vintage age.
NOTE:
Syroco is a combination of a wood compound and casting fluids that were then poured into molds. The finished casting appears to be hand carved. It was first made by the Syracuse Ornamental Wood Co., hence the name Syroco.
