Sorry, this item has sold.

A very unique and old heart shaped pendant necklace that is from the Victorian era. Typical of Mourning Jewelry, this piece is a dark stone (hematite) with a round druzy (or drusy) cluster set in the center. (The druzy center appears to be crystal over the hematite and as such, takes on it’s rich coloring. ) The back is plain hematite.

The heart is wrapped with gold fill wire and hangs from a marked 14K gold filled chain. This beautiful heart shaped pendant is circa 1880s. The stone front has a crack in it that can be seen in the photos.

Measurements:
Heart - approx. 1/2" wide to 7/8" high.
Chain - 16"
Druzy center measures 3mm

Chain and pendant weigh 3.6 grams.

The chain is marked 14K near the clasp.

In nice antique condition with wear all over commensurate with age. The front of the stone is cracked - the crack can be seen in photos. There is wear and scratching on the stone front and back. Item's price reflects this condition.

    Frequently Asked Questions

Do we answer questions about the value or “worth” of items?

No, we are not comfortable providing pricing or answering questions about the value or worth of vintage or antique items. We believe they are worth what someone will pay for them. Therefore, there is no way to assign something a set monetary value - in our opinion. We suggest doing an online search to find similar items and take it from there.
