This listing is for a beautiful vintage glass compote or pedestal that is a very, very light lavender color. The glass is quite thick on this compote, and the top has scalloped edges. There are 9 scallops on the top that have rounded panels under them that go downwards and meet in at the stem of the pedestal. The pedestal has an angular wafer in the center and has a hexagonal piece on top of the round base section.
There are air bubbles here and there, and some lines in the glass itself that are typical of glass that is most likely is circa 1940s or earlier.
This very light purple glass pedestal bowl is large enough for use on a candy buffet or as a wedding centerpiece overflowing with fresh flowers or on a table with fruit, especially plums or grapes to bring out the purple coloring in the glass.
This wonderful piece is quite hefty - it weights over 3 lbs.before packaging for shipment.
Measuring 7 1/2 inches in height and 8.5 inches in diameter. The pedestal measures 4" in height.
This clear glass compote with a touch of purple coloring in the glass has no chips or cracks. There are some small rust discolorations on the inside of the bowl (see closeup in the last picture above - it's not very noticeable but I did want to mention it and try to show it). Overall it is in great vintage or antique condition.
