Antique etched Crystal cruet Set that was made by the Meriden Conn Britannia Company in the 1890s. The pair of matching cruets are both decorated with both etched and cut glass designs and have cut glass stoppers. There is an etched design around the center of each of these cruets. The upper lips/edges of the cruets are folded in half and curled up. These edges, the neck, center section and bottom sections have cut glass decorations in the center of each giving them a great Victorian look.
Measure 7 1/3" tall with stoppers in and 5 1/2" tall without the stoppers. Bottoms have a 1 1/4" diameter.
This is a wonderful serving set made by the Britannia Company of Meriden, Connecticut that includes a tall set of oil and vinegar cruets that were typical of the table settings in the nineteenth century. This type of cut-glass set usually was in something called a "caster" that also included salt and pepper shakers and a sugar or mustard container. These containers rested inside a cruet frame that was a base raised on feet with rings to hold the cruets and other containers.
There are no chips or cracks to the crystal containers. The stoppers have broken ends with chipping with one being more broken off than the other - see photos for detail. Some wear commensurate with antique age as they are quite old.
NOTE: I have the matching sugar/mustard pourer and a salt shaker at this listing:
