A classic Blessed Mother Mary, Queen of Heaven statue that is in beautiful shades of turquoise blue, ivory and light green chalkware colors with a gray base. She stands on a serpent that is under her feet. She is striking as her face is beautiful as she looks downward in humility. She is circa 1940s or 1950s and is delightfully chippy. She is probably a Colombia Statuary piece but she is not marked as such.
Mary's blue/turquoise robe has a pink colored lining. Her dress underneath is pale yellow or ivory and it flows down in folds from her belted gold waistband and a gold collar. Mary's veil is a light tan colot. The globe she stands on is also blue/turquoise. Some gold stars are also at her feet and a nasty looking serpent with his mouth open - Mary is stepping on the snake with both feet. The square base of this statue has angled corners in a grey color.
She stands about 13" inches tall and is about 5" across at the widest point. The eight sides of the base measure approx. 3 1/2".
Some chipping all over - see photos. There are no cracks on the statue.
Plenty of spots that have wear to the paint consistent with vintage condition. All considered, this statue of Mary is a great shabby chic piece.
