The frame is a unique shape that is somewhat rectangular. It is very ornate with elaborate scrolled and flower flourishes surrounding it. There is some great ornamental detail on the top and bottom of this large rectangular mirror that is very mid-century, very Hollywood Regency
The back of the mirror at the top is marked "COPYRIGHT MXMLXV SYROCO INC. MADE IN USA 5111"
The wall mirror measures about 30" tall and 19" wide at the widest part. There is a wire strung between two triangular attached loops on the back for hanging.
In nice vintage condition with light wear commensurate with vintage age. No chips or cracks and mirror reflects nicely.
SYROCO was the name of the company that made it is embossed on the back - Syroco or the Syracuse Ornamental Company out of Syracuse, NY. This type of decorative and ornate Syroco wall hanging is typical of the 1960s and 1970s as Syroco Co. made a number of mid century wall hangings in this style. Syroco items are intended to look like wood or metal, and are molded of either plastic or out of a combination of resin and wood chips to achieve this effect. As a result, they are typically lighter weight than they look.
