Vintage Fostoria white milk glass pitcher with a cameo of Jenny Lind on the sides. Fostoria manufactured these white milk glass pitchers with the cameo of Jenny Lind from 1955 to 1965 and have since been discontinued. See NOTE below about Jenny Lind.
Measures 8" tall and is about 7" wide at widest point.
This white pitcher holds 40 oz.
In nice vintage condition with no chips or cracks.
NOTE:
Johanna Maria Lind was born in October 1820 and died in November 1887. She was much better known as Jenny Lind, a Swedish opera singer, AKA as the "Swedish Nightingale". One of the most highly regarded singers of the 19th century, she performed soprano roles in opera all over Europe and was featured on a very popular concert tour of America beginning in the mid 1800s.
After a successful run in opera around the world, she announced her retirement from opera at the age of 29.
