A large vintage statement multi gemstone locket that is gold tone metal and has two photo compartments inside. On the front of this oval locket are set a very colorful and artistic combination of gemstones and a tiny pearl at the top. The stones, a tiny pearl, a around opal, emerald cut citrine, round faceted tourmaline, oval quartz, and ovals of chrysoprase are in differing shapes and sizes, and they are artfully placed inside a twisted oval frame. The back of the locket is embossed with a leaf pattern. The photos inside are of a man and a woman and are circa 1940s.
This locket is on a long gold tone chain. The locket and the chain are unmarked. The locket and the chain close securely.
Presidium Gem tester reads stones as chrysoprase, citrine, tourmaline, quartz, opal. The prong set pearl is quite small and has not been tested.
Locket measures approx. 1 5/8" long x 1 1/4" wide. It is about 1/2" deep from the top of the quartz to the bottom of the locket back.
Gold tone serpentine type of chain measures 24" in length.
