Antique Shabby Chic Copper Box - Red lined Jewelry or Trinket Box Ca 1800s - Early 1900s - Southwest Motif - Silver on Copper Rusty & Worn

Sorry, this item has sold.

Great rectangular antique box with a lid and folded over corners edges that were how they were made before welding was commonly done. This rustic trinket box or jewelry box is most likely made in the late 1800s or early 1900s and has a red velvet lining with wooden dividers that make 4 compartments inside.

It looks like it was originally silver over copper but it is so worn, that all that remains is the copper - and it is rusty at that.

There are the remains of a Southwest scene etched on the front. It has cactus, grasses, a small tree, and what looks like an overpass or arches with layered stone foundations holding it up. There is a border design of cross-hatching and dots. The front and back sides have a couple of raised panels that have dotts hammered in them. The short sides have one of these panels.

Measures 8" long x 5" wide x 1 1/2" high

In rusty worn shabby chic condition. The insides have staining on the red velvet lining.

    Frequently Asked Questions

Do we answer questions about the value or “worth” of items?

No, we are not comfortable providing pricing or answering questions about the value or worth of vintage or antique items. We believe they are worth what someone will pay for them. Therefore, there is no way to assign something a set monetary value - in our opinion. We suggest doing an online search to find similar items and take it from there.
