Striking Kosta Boda vase that is circa 1980-1990s in the Caramba pattern that Swedish artist Ulrica Hydman-Vlaien created and signed the bottom of for Kosta Boda. White translucent glass features hand painted black snakes, woman, man with a horn on head, plant with leaf on the sides and a top rim that is black with white squiggles in it. Has a garden of Eden feel to it. The authentic Caramba Kosta Boda pieces are all unique and hand signed by the artist.
The original stickers are still intact on this large vase - one of the top that says KOSTA BODA and one on the bottom.
Piece is signed by the artist Ulrica Hydman-Vallien (see NOTE below about this artist) - Kosta Boda Artist Coll Ulrica 45795 - etched on bottom.
In great vintage condition with no chips or cracks.
Measures 13 1/2" high. Approx. 9" in diameter at widest point.
NOTE:
Ulrica Hydman-Vallien, born in Stockholm in 1938, is one of Sweden’s best known glass artists, whose unmistakable figures have embellished a variety of things such as mobile phones and the tails of airplanes. She began working for Kosta Boda in 1972 as a freelance artist.
