Antique Brass Mortar and Pestle - Solid Brass Mortar & Pestle in Low Chalice - Apothecary Mortar w/ Textured Design w/ 2 Handles and Pestle

Sorry, this item has sold.

A solid brass and attractive antique kitchen/apothecary mortar and pestle for grinding of spices, although it may have originally be for medicines to be ground up.

The mortar and pestle are solid brass. There are lines around each that are decorative. Inside the mortar are 2 sets of double lines, one near the top rim and one about 1 1/2" farther down the interior.

On the middle of the mortar is a band of textured design giving this mortar a great look. It also has 2 handles - one on each side.

The Mortar is approx. 3 3/4" high and has an approx. 4" diameter around the top. The pestle is about 5" tall.

Both the mortar and pestle show signs of wear and they have a lovely patina. Of course, you can shine them up if you prefer but I left them as I found them.

They both are solid brass and are in great antique condition.

    Frequently Asked Questions

Do we answer questions about the value or “worth” of items?

No, we are not comfortable providing pricing or answering questions about the value or worth of vintage or antique items. We believe they are worth what someone will pay for them. Therefore, there is no way to assign something a set monetary value - in our opinion. We suggest doing an online search to find similar items and take it from there.
