A very large and rather heavy beautiful chalkware or plaster plaque that is 3 dimensional.
There is a hanging loop on the back. The colors and facial expressions are sublime and the detail is fabulous, especially the eyes which are blue. There is a pink cast to the skin tone - looks very lifelike.
This mid century Jesus plaque is in nice vintage condition considering its age - no cracks or chips in the plaster/chalkware. Some light chipping of paint all over. Great for the shabby chic look.
The Latin words "Ecce Homo" are on the front of this plaque. Ecce homo means "behold the man", the words used by Pontius Pilate when he presents a scourged Jesus Christ, bound and crowned with thorns, to a hostile crowd shortly before his Crucifixion.
Measures 12' long, 11" wide and has a depth of approx. 4".
Weighs 4 lbs. before packaging for shipment.
