2 Vintage Gold Ornate Burwood Wall Sconces - Pair Wood Candle Holders Hollywood Regency Shabby Chic Mid Century Syracuse Ornamental Wood Co

A pair of beautiful and ornate gold colored wood wall sconces by Burwood from the mid century. They feature flowers and lovely swirls typical of a French Provincial or Hollywood Regency decor. Each holds one candle.

They are both marked on the back - Burwood Products Co. USA and have the numbers 3124 stamped on them too. See NOTE below about the Burwood Co., which made a large number of wall decor items from 1932 to the late 1990s.

These two vintage sconces that are from the mid century have holes on the back of them for some type of hook to be placed for hanging.

They measure approx. 13" long and are about 6 1/2" across at widest point. The candle holders have a depth of about 3 1/2" from the back of the base section.

In great vintage condition and look great considering the mid century age of these two ornate gold wooden sconces.

NOTE:
The Burwood Products Company, a wall decor and clock manufacturer, of Traverse City, Michigan made small items from burwood, a composite wood/plastic material that can be injection molded. They also made whimsical designs on buttons. The Company was originally housed in the old Owosso Carriage and Sleigh Company building on Milwaukee Avenue until it burned in December of 1932. Burwood closed its doors in 1999 when bankruptcy restructuring failed.
