Gorgeous Mother of Pearl is artistically carved and placed on these Oriental black lacquer panels with frames accented in hand painted gold and silver paint.
The mother of pearl shell is an iridescent white with soft hues of greens, pinks, blue and touches of yellow. Rocks, branches, leaves, architectural items and two lovely Oriental women in kimonos are featured on all of these panels but each has its own design - a couple have teapots and one has an instrument - see all photos for differences. Mother-of-pearl pieces are substantial - the designs are made of rather thick layers of shell.
The four panels are all different, although they feature two women, trees, rocks and branches in different formations and shapes. I have labeled them A, B, C, D as seen in the photos.
Panels each have a decorative brass hook with a geometric Oriental design on the top for hanging.
The panel frames feature the same colors - black with decorative gold and silver accent painting around the edges.
In nice vintage or antique condition with light signs of wear. There are light repairs in various places on each of these that can be seen upon close inspection.
Measurements:
Each panel is 12" wide, 36" long, and about 3/4" in thickness.
