Sorry, this item has sold.

The Miller Studio created this richly colored chalkware wall hanging in 1971. It says Peace Be To This House and has a dove, colorful flowers and fruit, very typical of Miller Studio chalkware plaques from the late mid century, and it is quite heavy.

The copyright, name of Miller Studios Inc. and the date 1971 are on the front side of this cheerful piece.

The chalkware plaque is in very nice vintage condition with no chips, cracks and the colors in nice shape. There is one wire hook that is on the back for hanging on the wall - it is the original and most likely should be treated with care.

Measures approx 9 1/2" across and 7" down. About 7/8" thick.

NOTE:
Founded in 1934 by Harry and Clela Miller, the Miller Studio began as a small gift shop in New Philadelphia, Ohio. The Millers started creating hand-painted plaster wall plaques, and by 1952, they grew to be the leading manufacturer of decorative wall decor. Their pieces have a very 1950s “cute” aesthetic.

    Frequently Asked Questions

Do we answer questions about the value or “worth” of items?

No, we are not comfortable providing pricing or answering questions about the value or worth of vintage or antique items. We believe they are worth what someone will pay for them. Therefore, there is no way to assign something a set monetary value - in our opinion. We suggest doing an online search to find similar items and take it from there.
