Lovely Victorian gold filled oval locket on a 14K gold filled chain. This petite oval locket has lots of wear and appears to have been worn for quite some time. We call this a "Timeworn Treasure" as it has been worn and loved, and still has more time to be enjoyed.
Both sides of this small oval antique locket have etched and chased designs on them with front side of the locket having a depressed area in the center and the back side, a slightly depressed area under a banner shape. The one side has an etched flower and some etched crosshatching inside an oval design. The other side, with the banner shape, has a background design that is etched. The top has a fleur de lis shape, and below the banner is a flower. All around the front and the back side designs are tiny chased designs adding a textured frame to both sides of the etched sections of this locket.
On the inside, there are two old black and white photos under glass. The wells have both frames intact. The photos are of a young girl and a young boy and are circa early 1900s.
The locket hangs on a vintage 14K gold filled very fine link chain that has a spring ring clasp. The chain is 18” long. The bale is an oval loop.
The feminine and dainty locket opens from the one side by pressing the 2 rounded pieces in opposite directions. It has the hinge on the opposite side.

Condition:
In fair to nice antique condition with a depression on the one side with the flower and a smaller depression on the other side. Lots of wear commensurate with antique age - see photos for detail. Item's price reflects condition. Still in all, an adorable piece of the past to enjoy today.
