This lovely white with rose florals ironstone teapot made in England by *Ellgreave and has a great traditional shape. There are rose flowers with darker olive green color used on the stems and leaves. Gold accents the spout, handle, base, upper rim, lid and knob on the top of the lid. The handle is quite bold with its solid gold color as is the spout and the top of the knob on the lid. The top and the bottom sections of the teapot are ribbed while the center, where the flowers are, is not. The outer section of the lid is also ribbed but the inner section with the flowers is not ribbed.
*NOTE: The Ellgreave Pottery Co was founded by Wood and Sons in 1921. Ellgreave's main production was in teapots and quality domestic earthenware.
Measures about 4 ½” tall with the lid and 9” from handle to spout. The bottom of the teapot is stamped Ellgreave, England and has a gold hand painted number / letter 378 M.
In nice vintage condition with no chips or cracks. Some crazing on the teapot. Color and gold trim is in nice shape with light wear here and there - see photos.
