A vintage advertising piece that is painted or a decal on mirrored glass that dates to 1944. This framed rectangular wall decor item features a woman walking a dog on the bottom right and above her is a small thermometer. At the very top, inside some black framing artwork, is the name and address of the company and a four digit phone number. The top section and the vertical black lines on the right side have an Art Deco feel to them. The woman’s’ dress and hair are typical 1940s style. The business noted on this vintage advertisement piece was the York Auto Parts Company located on North George St in York, Pennsylvania. On the back of this mirrored glass piece is a small paper calendar from 1944. It is tucked into the paper backing behind the glass.
It measures 9 3/4" long x 4 1/2" wide and is 1/2" deep on the frame.
This wall decor piece from the WWII era is framed with a wood frame that was once painted but is now weathered to a gray color.
The back has brown paper backing and a small hook with a ribbon on the top that was used to hang it on the wall.
It is in nice vintage condition with wear commensurate with vintage age - 1944. Some pitting on the mirror and loss of finish here and there. Adds to the shabby chic look and feel of this retro home decor / collectible item.
