Simple oak jewelry box with carved wood design on the top and front, and a laminated country scene of a cottage in the woods in muted colors decoupaged on the top. Inside there is a mirror on the inner lid with white painted trim and gold foil on the edges that is in wonderful condition. This mirror fits the complete lid. The front closure and the hinges on the back are brass with lots of patina.
Bordering the oval scene on the top and on the front top of this wood and lightweight trinket or jewelry box, is a decorative carved floral design in the wood that features flowers and leaves.
There are 2 handles on the sides that have some decorative vertical lines carved in them. Four short wooden pedestal feet are on the bottom - they also have some vertical lines in them.
Measures approx. 11" long x 6" wide and is about 4" high.
In nice vintage condition with signs of wear on the top decal here and there. There is a small crack in the front left leg - see photos. Great country cottage, shabby chic or French farmhouse piece.
