A clear leaded glass covered comport or lidded candy dish with an ornate pressed glass pattern that features crosshatching and frond like designs on the lid and sides and even on the finial on the lid. This pedestal dish has a short stem and the base is six-sided. Around the sides are six panel designs that are separated with vertical columns.
The finial or knob on the lid is quite special - it has a great deal of detail including crosshatching and some oval impressions all around it. The top is faceted.
There are no chips or cracks. In nice vintage condition - a beautiful display jar, serving comport or candy dish.
This beautiful glass piece is rather hefty and therefore appears to be leaded glass.
In total, this retro pressed glass comport is about 11” high to the top of the knob on the lid. It measures about 5 1/2” in diameter. The bottom part of this piece alone is about 6” tall and the lid alone is 5” tall. (The tall finial knob on the lid is quite pronounced and is about 3 3/4" high.)
This leaded glass piece is quite heavy weighing in at over 4 lbs. before packaging for shipment.
