Vintage Wilton 2 Wall Cast Metal Sconce - Pair Retro Copper / Bronze Color Candlestick Holders Mid century Kitchen Dining Room Decor Candle

A fantastic pair of cast metal wall sconces made by the Wilton Metalworks Comapny. This heavy cast metal set is a copper color and features two candle holders with one on each side of the sconce. All together, the pair will hold four candles.

There is a hole at the top of each for hanging on the wall. The top part has two tassel shapes that hang down with a harp shaped frame around them. The two arms are covered in leaf shapes. These mid century wall sconces are circa the 1950s when the Wilton Company was producing metal items. See NOTE below.

NOTE:
The Wilton Metalworks Company began in 1892 when Ralph P. Wilton, Sr. began working for his uncle at the Susquehanna Casting Company near Wrightsville, Pennsylvania. Their foundry produced industrial iron castings for other manufacturers. Fifty years later, Ralph P. Wilton, Jr. expanded the family business and began Wilton Products (1940) which made cast iron gifts and the Wilton Brass Company (1955) which initially produced industrial brass, aluminum, and iron castings. In 1963, the company gained a lot of notoriety when Wilton, Jr. developed the formula for an aluminum-based alloy called Armetale, and used it in a new line of Wilton products.

This retro pair of wall sconces is made of cast metal and has a shiny finish - it is hallmarked on the bottom under the base with capital letters spelling WILTON which stands fit the Wilton Metalworks Company.

This piece is rather hefty weighing in at almost 3 3/4 lbs. before packaging for shipment.

This retro candlestick holders for the wall are about 8 1/2" tall and 7 1/2" wide. They stick out from the wall about 2 1/2".

The striking classic home decor wall sconces are in nice vintage condition with no chips or cracks. Patina all over this retro candelabra. Some more wear on the cup that holds the candles on one of the pair than on the other - see photos for detail.
