A pair of Blue Mountain pottery Maple leaf shaped candle holders in a dark green glaze with deep turquoise and black. The two candlestick holders are matching and are from the mid century. The backs are signed CANADA. Each of the two has a round loop at one end and appear to be the spare of a maple leaf.
NOTE:
The Blue Mountain Pottery Company was a Canadian company located in Collingwood, Ontario. It was founded in 1953 by Dennis Tupy and Jozo Weiderand closed in the early 2000s. The company began by producing items in 1953-1954 including various types of pottery, from animal figurines like these candlestick holders to other items like jugs, pots and vases.
Blue Mountain Pottery items are collected worldwide, and there is even a Blue Mountain Pottery Collector's Club. What makes Blue Mountain Pottery a bit unique is their trademarked glazing process where two different liquid glazes, one light and one dark in color, were used. As they were fired, the two glazes would run together and make streaks that were different on each piece - while the molds may be the same, the colors on each item are all unique.
The pair are 1 1/2" high. They are 7" long x 5" wide.
The set is in nice vintage condition with no cracks with light chipping. Still look great, especially for pieces that are 50+ years old, a mid century item.

No, we are not comfortable providing pricing or answering questions about the value or worth of vintage or antique items. We believe they are worth what someone will pay for them. Therefore, there is no way to assign something a set monetary value - in our opinion. We suggest doing an online search to find similar items and take it from there.
