A very mod mod pair of black candle pottery holders from the mid century. The pair are a very unique shape as the bottoms are square and wide. They are most likely made by Haegar but most of the original label is worn. They are from a department store that was in business in the Buffalo, NY area but had long since gone out of business called A M & A’s or Adam, Meldrum & Anderson's. The bottoms have some small felt circles to protect the surface they sit upon.
These very distinctive matte black candle holders stand out because of the wide square bottom bases. The square shape of the bases accents the square shape all the way up these candleholders. Just under the portion that holds the candles, the shape is then round.
The 2 candle holders measure 8 1/2" high. The bases are approx. 3 1/4" across.
In nice vintage condition with slight wear here and there - some spots that show white underneath where the paint has chipped. Even so, they really still look great.
A handsome mid century retro pair of pottery candle holders with a great deal of 1990s flourish!
