Vintage Friction Toy Chick - Mid Century Made in Germany by NANA - Wind up Toy w/ Whistle - Vintage Children's Toay Chick Collectible 1960s

Sorry, this item has sold.

Looks like time stood still for this little chick. She is in great condition with no visible chips or dings. Made of plastic in West Germany - it is marked Germany on the side and also has 939, NANA and a hallmark of some kind on the sides. If you grew up in the late mid century, you probably remember this type of toy that is a friction toy.

This is called a friction toy because you rub them on a flat surface to "wind them up" and then put them down and they move forward a little bit to keep kids entertained. The friction winds them up.

And BONUS! This vintage friction toy has a little whistle on her back end! You think it's just her tail but, no. The red tail on her backside is a whistle that you can blow and make a nice squeaky noise.

This whistle is the perfect way to rub any parent the wrong way in the morning!

Measures approx. 2" high by 2" wide. Very cute!

    Frequently Asked Questions

Do we answer questions about the value or “worth” of items?

No, we are not comfortable providing pricing or answering questions about the value or worth of vintage or antique items. We believe they are worth what someone will pay for them. Therefore, there is no way to assign something a set monetary value - in our opinion. We suggest doing an online search to find similar items and take it from there.
