Adorable small sized teapot with a lid, creamer and a cup (or could be used as an open sugar bowl) made by Royal Winton and crafted in England by Grimwades. Small vintage teapot, cup, and creamer that are circa 1950s. This set is stackable as the creamer and the small cup fit inside the teapot opening and the lid for the teapot fits on the cup at the the creamer when all stacked up. I believe this set is circa 1950s - mid century.
**The Royal Winton Company produced earthenware and fine bone china tableware made by Grimwades Limited, a Stoke-on-Trent based company founded in 1885. Pieces are marked with either name, or both.
This set is marked Royal Winton Grimwades Made in England on the bottom. Each piece is also hand signed in brown with a single letter/number.
This rare 4 piece set features a dark yellow at the bottom of each piece that fades to a light ivory color at the top. They all have an iridescent finish as well giving them a wonderful sparkle when the light hits them. The rims of all of the pieces are lined in a gold accent trim.
This set displays beautifully and is quite adorable!
Approximate Measurements of the 4 pieces:
Teapot - 6" from tip of spout to end of handle, 3 1/2" high. The teapot is about 4 1/4" wide at the widest section.
Creamer - 4 1/2" from tip of spout to end of handle, and has a 2 7/8" diameter. It is 1 1/3" high
Cup (or Open Sugar) - 3 1/2" from end of handle to side of cup, has a 2 7/8" diameter and is 1 1/3" high
Height when stacked - 5 1/2"
Lid - 2 7/8" diameter, and is 1 1/4' high to the top of the knob on the lid
In nice vintage condition with light crazing on all of the pieces, and a small chip under the spout that can be seen when the teapot is turned over. Otherwise, light wear commensurate with mid century age. The gold is in nice condition with little wear on the accent trim. Price reflects condition.
