Vintage Pottery Jar w/ Lid Farmhouse Country Decor - Rustic Lidded Storage Container Grey / Beige Stonewear ca 1920-1930s

$76.50

Sorry, this item has sold.

An antique pottery jar with a lid that features a milk can type of shape and a round lid with a small round flat knob on it. The color is a grayish beige. This type of stoneware container was used for food storage before the days of refrigeration and plastic wrap. Crocks were used in American to hold food products like butter, salted meats and pickled vegetables.

This jar has a barrel round body and a slightly tapered top section. The lid is round with a round slightly raised nob on it. The lid is chippy - perfect for a country cottage or farmhouse decor. This is circa late 1800s to early 1900s in age.

Measures 8 1/2" high and has a 6 3/4" diameter. The top section of the jar has a 4 3/4" diameter. The lid is 4 1/2" in diameter. This piece is heavy for its size weighing in at nearly 5 lbs. before packaging for shipment.

This stonewear container is in nice antique condition with wear commensurate with vintage age - no cracks. Lots of chips especially on the lid. See photos for detail.

    Frequently Asked Questions

Do we answer questions about the value or “worth” of items?

No, we are not comfortable providing pricing or answering questions about the value or worth of vintage or antique items. We believe they are worth what someone will pay for them.
